Finding the Right Literary Magazines for Your Work – with Becky Tuch

  • 16 Nov 2023
  • 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Zoom

The landscape of literary magazines can be daunting. With thousands of journals on the market, how do writers narrow down the ones that are the best fit for their own work? In this lively and interactive session, Becky Tuch, Founder of Lit Mag News, will provide writers with the information and support they need to gain a better grasp of the lit mag world. Topics discussed will be defining and understanding "top tier" magazines, how to make sense of rejection letters, developing a "cognitive map" of the best lit mags for one's own aesthetic and writing goals, the pros and cons of contests, what to do when a journal goes out of print, how to engage with editors, and how to stay focused and not get discouraged. There will be a lot of time for Q&A, so bring your questions.
